Title: Triple Word Scores
Author: Montiese
Category: Humor/Romance
Pairing: Gideon/Prentiss
Rating: YTEEN
Word Count: 189
Summary: “Well dazzle me SSA Gideon.”
Author’s Note: the prompt was xerography and the fun of Scrabble from elekanahmen but I admit I didn’t know how to work that. So I worked this instead.
“That is not a word.” Jason looked at the Scrabble board and back at Emily.
“Yes it is.”
“No,” he shook his head. “What is that? Do? Dough?”
“Do? Jason, its D-O-H…its d’oh.” She smacked her forehead for emphasis.
“The Homer Simpson thing? That is definitely not a word.” He laughed.
“It was added to the Oxford English Dictionary in 2001; it’s a word. The definition is expressing frustration at the realization that things have turned out badly or that one has just said or done something foolish.”
“Should I be concerned that you know the definition of d’oh by heart? Use it in a sentence please.”
“I love him but I loathe Scrabble. D’oh.”
“That is not an appropriate use of the word by definition…if it were a word.” Jason’s grin made Emily do the same.
“Well dazzle me SSA Gideon.”
“I am sure I could have found something sexier to do this evening than playing Scrabble. D’oh!” he slapped his forehead.
“You are adorable.” Emily laughed. “Now tell me that d’oh is a word and give me a kiss.”
“How about I just give you a kiss?”
